Intermediate asanas are slightly more challenging than beginner postures, and prepare the practitioner for advanced postures and deeper meditation by improving endurance, coordination, and awareness.

Triangle Pose

Trikonasana
  1. Stand with legs wide apart
  2. Stretch your arms sideways at shoulder level
  3. Bend your body to one side and touch the foot (or ankle) with your hand
  4. Keep both legs straight and look up at the raised hand
  5. Return to the starting position and repeat on the other side
  6. Hold each side for 30 seconds, gradually increasing to one minute

Half Spinal Twist

  1. Sit on the floor with legs extended forward
  2. Bend the right knee and place the foot outside the left knee
  3. Fold the left leg and place the foot near the right hip (optional for beginners)
  4. Place the right hand behind you for support
  5. Twist your torso to the right and bring the left elbow outside the right knee
  6. Turn your head over the right shoulder and hold for about 30 seconds, then repeat on the other side

Head-to-Knee Pose

  1. Sit on the floor with legs extended forward
  2. Bend one knee and place the sole of the foot against the inner thigh of the other leg
  3. Inhale and stretch your arms upward
  4. Exhale and bend forward, reaching toward the foot of the extended leg
  5. Try to touch your head to the knee while keeping the back straight
  6. Hold the posture and breathe normally

Bridge Pose

Setu Bandhasana
  1. Lie on your back with knees bent, feet flat on the floor, hip-width apart
  2. Keep arms beside the body with palms facing down
  3. Press your feet and arms into the ground
  4. Slowly lift your hips upward, forming a bridge
  5. Hold the posture while breathing normally
  6. Hold for about 30 seconds, gradually increasing the time

Seated Forward Bend

Paschimottanasana
  1. Sit on the floor with legs extended straight in front of you
  2. Keep your spine straight and feet together
  3. Inhale and raise your arms overhead
  4. Exhale and bend forward from the hips, reaching toward your feet
  5. Hold your toes, ankles, or shins as per your flexibility
  6. Keep the head relaxed and breathe normally while holding the posture

Camel Pose

Ustrasana
  1. Kneel on the floor with knees hip-width apart
  2. Keep your thighs upright and hands on your hips
  3. Slowly bend backward, opening the chest
  4. Place your hands on your heels one by one
  5. Let your head drop back gently and keep the chest lifted
  6. Hold for 30 seconds while breathing normally

  • Maintain steady breathing
  • Avoid overstretching or strain
